Our Commitment
Koukourou Engineers is a service oriented commercial consulting engineering firm specialising in technology, environmental, civil, structural and forensic engineering. Also damage and risk assessment. This includes a high degree of expertise in materials testing and the performance and serviceability of construction materials. It sees its geographical area of operations as Australia, the South Pacific and South East Asian areas.
Koukourou Engineers is an Australian company founded over 35 years ago in Adelaide. It now services markets in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales.
Our policy has always been to work at the "coalface" and we have developed a history of working in close collaboration with builders and construction contractors. We have an understanding of the practical realities of working in the development sector, and a keen grasp of the commercial importance of cost control and minimisation.
We are known as the "one stop shop" and can provide the full range of services including approval, final design and project management of the construction to completion.
We have a national reputation for excellence and innovation in the consulting engineering sector. In South Australia, we are the dominant providers of soil testing, site analysis and footing design services. We have developed world-first technology to deal with the problems of building on reactive soil sites. New engineering systems developed by us have revolutionised footing design in Australia and is attracting strong international interest. We have a comprehensive research and development program and have amassed a formidable reservoir of expertise and knowledge in all aspects of engineering.
Our clients include some of Australia's largest building, residential and commercial development companies, Government and urban land authorities, many smaller builders and individual developers. We have developed advanced computer software to aid in efficient designs, much of which is used by industry nationally.
We have a well-trained, long serving and stable staff. The key to our success is the technical ability and commitment of all Koukourou people. They give their best every day. Our senior personnel have substantial experience and hold key offices in professional and technical bodies. All employees are involved in the company's running and effectiveness through a system of weekly business unit staff meetings where job progress and business enterprise are reviewed.

Our Awards, Achievements and Affiliations
Koukourou Engineers are active leaders and participants in the construction and civil engineering industries. Koukourou make significant contributions to Australia's building and engineering industries through expert membership of industry technical and training committees.
Koukourou have supplied experts to many Standards Australia working committees (participation in many committees exceeds 10 years). Koukourou experts have a long history of participation in committees and groups mapping the future of the construction industries. Koukourou have long supplied expertise to Housing Industry Technical Committees, National Association of Testing Authorities and Construction Materials Testing Accreditation Advisory Committee and Institution of Engineers Australia Technical Groups and societies. We have for many years supplied technical assessors to aid in maintaining the NATA laboratory assessment system.
