OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR (VIC)

We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced administrator to provide administrative support to our administration team nationally.

What is the role?

The role is to provide administration support and assistance primarily to our Victorian office, but also nationally.  You will be working within a team of administrators, technicians and engineers and will be communicating daily with clients over the phone and via email. Although the administration support required will be broad and varied, the core responsibility of this role will be to assist with job management via entering new sales orders, communicating with clients, raise and receipt purchase orders and invoice work.

SENIOR ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (VIC)

FMG Engineering is seeking a qualified and talented senior environmental scientist with contaminated land investigation, remediation and management experience to join our team in Victoria.

This position offers you the opportunity to make your mark by building an environmental team to support our urban development works. You will develop and refine reporting lines, systems and procedures with best practice in mind.  There will be a significant focus on bidding, winning and delivering new work.

As the ideal candidate you will have: 

  • Degree qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering environmental projects in the areas of due diligence, contaminated land investigations, risk assessment, remediation and environmental management
  • Site Contamination Practitioner certification (highly desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of current environmental legislation, standards and guidelines
  • Proven project management expertise in the relevant industry
  • Experience managing/structuring a team
  • Demonstrated client contact, liaison and management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in field sampling techniques
  • Established relationships with builders, developers, architects, urban planners and project managers (highly desirable)
  • Computer software experience using ESdat, gINT, ProUCL, Surfer, GW Chart etc (highly desirable)
  • A driver’s licence

Your role will be to provide civil engineering design solutions for various road infrastructure, land development, commercial and industrial buildings and ensuring quality assurance across engineering design and documentation. JUNIOR SOIL TECHNICIAN  (SA)  

Due to continued growth we are seeking a Junior Technical Operator to join our team and undertake laboratory testing.

This is an entry level position; experience is not essential but advantageous. A strong work ethic, reliable, honest, willingness to listen and learn, along with the ability to follow procedures methodically and take direction from senior staff are essential to this position. This position would ideally suit school leavers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine laboratory testing of soil, concrete and aggregates in accordance with AS1289, AS1012 and AS1141
  • Carry out designated tests strictly in accordance with laboratory procedures
  • Ensure testing outputs are met and exceeded
  • Maintain and set up equipment for use in testing
  • Operate and calibrate instruments
  • Classify and log samples to AS1726

Skills and Experience

Applicants possessing any of the following will be highly regarded:

  • TAFE or similar course in laboratory testing or related discipline
  • Year 12 SACE Certificate
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to follow procedures methodically and take direction
  • Strong maths and physics background (not a necessity)

SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - RESIDENTIAL  (SA)  

Primarily the role will be working within a team of other experienced engineers and designers working on large and small residential projects and medium density developments.

 Formal qualifications in structural or civil engineering is required, and you must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 4 years prior work experience in this field, within Australia.

 Ideally your experience would include a combination of the following:

  •  Residential footing design
  • Residential civil design
  • Residential structural design
  • CAD drafting
  • Knowledge and interpretation of soil data
  • Good verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position.

SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER / TEAM LEADER (SA) 

Are you a Senior Structural Engineer with aspirations to manage a small team and a drive to grow project portfolio?

Ideal candidates would include experienced and qualified structural engineers with at least 8-10 years of demonstrated structural design experience. Previous people management and leadership experience will be highly regarded.

What is the role? 

Your role would see you working closely with the technical lead and senior engineers to ensure the team works productively and efficiently to achieve company and customer objectives. Ensuring quality is to the highest standard whilst meeting client service levels will be of high importance. You should be comfortable that your strong communication skills will allow you to confidently communicate and liaise with clients, builders and architects – Building trust and helping to secure project work.

The role is diverse and ideally suited to someone who enjoys balancing their time between client management, building business, team management whilst at times still being ‘hands on’ and undertaking structural design, and structural design review.

TECHNICAL OPERATOR / SOIL TECHNICIAN / FIELD SOIL TECHNICIAN (VIC)   (CLOSED) 

FMG Research is an independent NATA accredited soil, concrete and materials testing laboratory located in Williamstown, Vic. Due to continued growth we have expanded our laboratory into Victoria and now seek candidates to fill a number of positions with our laboratory testing team: Technical Operator, Soil Technician and Field Soil Technician.
