HOUSING ADMINSTRATOR 

We are seeking a suitably qualified, experienced administrator to work within our South Australian residential engineering division and assist with managing our clients engineering requirements. 

The administration duties of this role are broad and varied.  You will be working within a team of administrators and engineers and will be communicating daily with clients over the phone and via email. You will be required to enter new sales orders, invoice completed work, communicate with and coordinate subcontractors, work with our engineering team to ensure engineering work is completed on time and delivered to clients, provide typing support and data entry as required.

 What skills and experience do you need?

  • Good verbal, phone and written communication skills are essential
  • Enjoy working in a team of busy professionals
  • Highly organized and able to manage several priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Solid typing and data entry skills
  • Strong computing skills with experience of Microsoft office programs (excel, word etc)
  • Experience within the building / construction industry preferred, but not necessary

FORENSIC ENGINEER

Forensic Engineers seeking a new challenge at highly regarded multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy, which continues to experience solid growth.

We require a Forensic Engineer to join our team in Victoria based in our office in Hawthorn.

Suitable candidates would include Structural Engineers who are seeking a new challenge or change of direction, or who already have experience in the field of forensic/building/structural assessment.

You will join a national team of around 20 established and highly regarded Forensic Engineers in an environment which values teamwork, learning and mutual respect.

You will be required to inspect residential, commercial and industrial buildings depending on requirements. Our service typically involves insurance or legal matters or the provision of advice to property/asset owners.

Based on your assessment and findings you will produce technical/expert reports, providing cause of damage, extent of damage and recommendations for repair.

As the ideal candidate you will have: 

  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Structural)
  • Strong written (report writing) and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Strong people and organisational skills
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Prior experience in Forensic preferred, but not essential
  • The ability to work autonomously, be thorough, methodical and with attention to detail
  • 4-5 years Structural engineering design and site experience preferred

BID CO-ORDINATOR ADMINISTRATOR

FMG Engineering is an award winning multi-disciplinary Engineering Consultancy providing services and solutions to the development, property and urban infrastructure sectors. With offices in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, we employ over 160 staff, comprising engineers, scientists, technicians, and support staff.

Due to an increase in workload we are seeking a suitably experienced person to fill the role of Bid Co-ordinator Administrator.

Key Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate the bids preparation process from inception through to delivery
  • Interpret client briefs and identify and source the best content and knowledge to support the bid
  • Develop high quality desktop published bids using established InDesign templates ensuring the brand guidelines are adhered to
  • Contribute, edit, produce and proof well written, accurate and persuasive bids
  • Liaise with a diverse range of teams and subconsultants to capture and develop content as required
  • Work in a team environment, liaising effectively across the group
  • Demonstrate initiative to leverage bid material across the business and strive for continual improvement of bid process
  • Help maintain CRM Vision database with respect to entry of prospects, projects and client/ contact details, update prospect/project status
  • Maintain/ build on knowledge library identifying and capturing useful information for reuse
  • Assist with the maintenance of marketing material used in submissions including project sheets, CVs, sector credentials and image resources as required
  • Assist when directed with group-wide knowledge management initiatives
  • Assist the Team Leaders with the whole quote / tender cycle process including but not limited to, risk assessments, proposal review, win/no win review.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in preparation of engineering or related quotation and bid documentation
  • Evident confidentiality and professionalism with a proven ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes. Strong client service ethos, proactive and can-do attitude. Must be self-driven and be able to self-manage workload and priorities
  • Initiative to manage workloads and ability to work flexibly, under pressure and to multiple tight deadlines
  • A collaborative approach and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, coupled with organisation, interpersonal skills and a consultative approach
  • Ideally, technically minded relating to engineering services or development related fields
  • Sound understanding of bid processes including procurement, interpreting briefs, tendering protocols, client focused writing etc.
  • High level verbal and written communication skills including ability to proof and edit content from others with a high level of attention to detail
  • Awareness of market/industry trends
  • Technical and software skills with experience using In-Design, Photoshop, Word, Powerpoint and Microsoft suite (intermediate to advanced).

TECHNICAL OPERATOR / SOIL TECHNICIAN / FIELD SOIL TECHNICIAN (SA)   --- APPLICATIONS CLOSED

Due to continued growth, FMG Research (our NATA accredited soil, concrete and materials testing laboratory) is seeking candidates to fill a number of positions within our laboratory testing team as Technical Operator, Soil Technician and Field Soil Technician.

The roles available vary from entry level to experienced soil technicians. While experience is not essential, a strong work ethic, willingness to listen and learn, along with the ability to follow procedures methodically and take direction from senior staff are essential to this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake routine laboratory testing of soil, concrete and aggregates in accordance with AS1289, AS1012 and AS1141
  • Carry out designated tests strictly in accordance with laboratory procedures
  • Ensure testing outputs are met and exceeded
  • Maintain and set up equipment for use in testing
  • Operate and calibrate instruments
  • Classify and log samples to AS1726

Skills and Experience

Applicants possessing any of the following will be highly regarded:

  • TAFE or similar course in laboratory testing or related discipline
  • Year 12 SACE Certificate
  • Strong employment record
  • Good analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to follow procedures methodically and take direction
  • Experience in soils, concrete and aggregate testing in accordance with AS1289, AS1012 and AS1141
  • Deemed to be proficient to carry out soil, concrete and aggregate testing
