| STRUCTURAL PRINCIPAL
John has developed his career in the industry since 1976, beginning as a Site Engineer on the National Australia Bank Headquarters. In his early career, John worked on several iconic multistorey buildings in Melbourne, such as; 1 Collins Street, 222 Exhibition Street, and the Price Waterhouse Building.
Becoming an Associate Director with Arup in the late 1980’s, John was responsible for the design of a new 18 storey wing at St Vincent’s Hospital, a $50 million redevelopment at Western General Hospital, the Adelphi Hotel and the Aerospace Training Centre.
In 1992 John, with former university colleague Leigh Burns, formed Burns Hamilton and Partners. For 20 years they ran a successful structural and civil engineering company that quickly established a reputation for providing cost effective designs and a high quality of service. Burns Hamilton merged with FMG Engineering in August 2013.
